Yuck, Fire Extinguisher Dust. Is it safe to clean up?

There are several types of fire extinguishers. Some you can clean up yourself, some you really shouldn't.  If you use a dry chemical extinguisher it's recommended your use a professional disaster/emergency service company like SERVPRO of Baltimore's Inner Harbor to do the clean up for you,.

Some common extinguishers are; Halotron, Bicarbonate and foam.

Every kind of fire extinguisher has a different method of disposal or clean up. Don't get sick by not knowing what kind you have and how or if you can clean it up yourself.

Be prepared to use your fire extinguisher but also be prepared to know the right way to clean up from it so that you can avoid injury.
